Get to know The Rocks on our new Thursday Walk series!
Join The Rocks' Senior Outreach Manager Nigel Manley for this weekly educational walking program, rotating between topics of Maple Sugaring, NH Wildlife, Christmas Trees, and History of The Rocks.
Thursday, September 12: Maple Sugaring at The Rocks
All about the maple sugaring operation at The Rocks! Learn to identify a maple tree, and how to tap it. Visit our NH Maple Museum, a partnership with the NH Maple Producers Association, to see how sugaring has evolved, and take a guided walk in the woods to see our tap lines. No maple tour would be complete without a taste of our own maple syrup, paired with sour pickles - a sugarmaker's tradition!
These walks will traverse varied terrain throughout The Rocks' campus, so be prepared to walk on gravel paths, uphill, through farm fields, and on the trails. Dress for the weather as we will go rain or shine! Walks last approximately two hours; some will have an introductory 15-30 minute presentation.
$5 for members, $15 for not-yet-members.
