Are you interested in learning how we choose which trees to remove and which to grow, how we address forest health issues, and how we take climate resiliency into consideration when making forest management decisions? Join us for a free, guided timber harvest hike/tour with Forest Society forestry staff, a licensed consulting forester, and UNH Extension Forestry Educator to visit an active timber harvest to learn about forestry.
We will share information about the respective roles of landowner, forester and logger and how to get
started managing your own land. Learn about the Forest Society’s objectives for owning and managing land. We will answer questions participants might have about all things forestry including current wood markets and the wide range of forest products being produced from trees grown, harvested and sold in NH.
