
Black Mountain Banding Station-Saw-whet Owl Field Trip

![]() This field trip involves hiking over uneven/steep ground in the dark, with a flashlight or headlamp. Dogs are not permitted. Children are welcome with an accompanying guardian; however, this field trip may not be appropriate for small children as it is VERY dark in the forest at this hour.
When: Saturday, October 18th, 7-9PM. Rain date is Sunday Oct 19th- if we are utilizing the rain date, you will receive an email by noon on 10/18 informing you of the change.
Where: Meet location is the main parking area of Kearsarge Regional High School (457 North Road, North Sutton, NH) at 7PM sharp. IMPORTANT: Please don't be late, since we will be carpooling a short distance and hiking into the banding site which is not findable on your own!
What to bring: Please bring a headlamp or flashlight of some sort to illuminate your own feet/path, a water bottle, and a camp chair (if you'd like to sit once we reach the banding site). Wear sturdy hiking footwear, and dress in layers for chilly autumn nights. A warm hat and gloves may be helpful!
