Bretzfelder Park Winter Family Education Series: "Wildlife Adaptions in Winter"
Bretzfelder Park

Join us for the 2025 Bretzfelder Park Winter Ed Series
New Hampshire winters are cold, it’s true. But New Hampshire wildlife has some tricks up their sleeve.

Join David Govatski, a naturalist from Jefferson, and Forest Society member, as he introduces us to the many strategies used by animal species in the Northeast to thrive during the coldest season. Govatski will discuss strategies, including migration, hibernation and resistance, used by local wildlife such as ruffed grouse, snowshoe hare, beaver, moose and many more. Plus, learn how these responses are influenced by snow and snowpack and animal brain mechanisms, and the winter adaptations that plants utilize in tandem with their animal counterparts.

The second installment of the Bretzfelder Park Winter Family Education Series sheds light on the ways our wildlife survives in the darkest months of the year.

Register: This event is free to the public. Registration is highly encouraged, walk-ins will be welcome. Please RSVP at the link below.
