Less Toxic Integrated Tick Management Strategies
Forest Society North at The Rocks

Ticks have been around for millennia and are very difficult to kill. Join Dr. Scott Williams, Chief Scientist and Head of the Department of Environmental Science and Forestry at The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station as he discusses differing strategies for the systemic treatment of pivotal reservoir hosts such as small rodents and white-tailed deer as well as research on fall spraying for ticks. Direct treatment of wildlife hosts and fall broadcast spraying limits the volume of material introduced to the landscape which has the potential to manage ticks and reduce public health risk of tick-borne illness while limiting negative impacts to our environment and beneficial insects.

Join us for this presentation with question and answer session to learn more about managing ticks.
