Preserving the Wonders of Night
Forest Society North at The Rocks

Artifical light at night is about more than losing sight of stars. For most of Earth history evolution of life has occured under rather stable and predictable periods of dark and light. It wasn't until the widespread adoption of the lightbulb that we saw illumination of the landscapr and a rapid shift in light/dark patterns. What does this mean for human and ecological health? And how can we adopt smart lighting and reduce the negative consequence of artificial light of night?
